By Pradeep Damodaran, Pragadish Kirubakaran and Neeraja Gopalakrishnan in Media News on Wednesday, 19th March 2025 at 4:31pm
In what appears to be a significant development in the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump have agreed on a phone call Tuesday to seek a limited 30-day ceasefire against energy and infrastructure targets in Russia and Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Israel ended a two-month truce in hostilities and pounded Gaza with airstrikes killing more than 400 people.
Hot Off the Press
Talks aimed at advancing toward a broader peace plan, including a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace, would begin “immediately”, the White House said. It wasn’t clear whether Ukraine is on board with the limited ceasefire plan, reported The Times of India.
Calling his talks with Putin “productive”, Trump said, “We’ll be working quickly for a complete ceasefire”.
Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a Fox News interview that the Trump administration was consulted on Monday by Israel on i

Craig Huggins, better known as Huggy from Gold 104.3, has stepped into the Afternoons and Drive slot at Perth’s 96FM, replacing Russell Clarke, who had been in the role for nearly six years, Radio Info reported.
Huggy shared his surprise at the move, saying, “I was told about the Perth gig last week, and I was a little shocked.” Joking about the logistical challenge, he added, “So now each morning I drive to Melbourne to start work at Gold 104.3 and drive home from 96FM Perth in the evenings! That’s a lot of kilometres each day!”
After nearly two decades at Adelaide’s Cruise 1323, Huggy reflected on the transition, saying, “I’ve had the most fabulous 20+ years on Cruise 1323 and felt embraced by the SA listeners. Now I’m just a little further west.

The series, announced by SCA in a press release, is a personal and candid exploration of how ADHD shapes different aspects of life, from relationships and parenting to career challenges and late diagnosis, particularly among women.

India retains third spot in WARC Media 100 Rankings 2025
By Staff Writer in Media News on Wednesday, 19th March 2025 at 2:50pm
The WARC Media 100 rankings for 2025 have been released, listing the world’s most awarded campaigns and companies in media. India has secured the third position for the second consecutive year, with 804.2 points.
Compiled by WARC Creative, the annual rankings aggregate results from the most significant global and regional media awards of 2024. The three key trends this year include overcoming media fragmentation, the enduring impact of print formats and the effectiveness of consumer tech in solving real-world problems.
Campaigns by brands like CeraVe, Barbie and Sprite demonstrated how distinctive brand elements such as colours, characters, and memes helped them maintain a strong presence across platforms. Print media proved its relevance through campaigns like L’Enfant Bleu’s children’s book and eBay’s partnership with Vogue, which effectively targeted niche audiences. Consumer tech also played a crucial role, with initiatives like Nosotras Women Connecting’s WhatsApp-
Ad Council orders ET Now to withdraw misleading budget coverage leadership claim
By Staff Writer in Media News on Wednesday, 19th March 2025 at 2:42pm
The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has instructed ET Now to retract its advertisement that claimed leadership in Budget news coverage, according to MediaNews4U.
After a review by ASCI’s Fast Track Complaints Panel (FTCP), the ad was found to be misleading and in violation of ASCI’s guidelines.
The email advertisement from ET Now featured the headline, “Leading the Views through the Budget News! India reaffirms faith in the true leader.”
The FTCP noted that the advertisement prominently displayed the ‘Budget for Viksit Bharat’ logo, which could mislead viewers into thinking the leadership claim was specific to Budget coverage. The 15-week data supporting the leadership claim encompassed all types of programming and did not focus solely on Budget-related content.
Since CNBC-TV18 had a higher viewership on Budget Day and throughout Budget Week, the FTCP determined that ET Now’s claim was misleading and could cause widespread viewer dissatisfaction.
