Huggy joins 96FM Perth for Afternoons and Drive
By staff writer in Media News on Wednesday, 19th March 2025 at 4:21pmCraig Huggins, better known as Huggy from Gold 104.3, has stepped into the Afternoons and Drive slot at Perth’s 96FM, replacing Russell Clarke, who had been in the role for nearly six years, Radio Info reported.
Huggy shared his surprise at the move, saying, “I was told about the Perth gig last week, and I was a little shocked.” Joking about the logistical challenge, he added, “So now each morning I drive to Melbourne to start work at Gold 104.3 and drive home from 96FM Perth in the evenings! That’s a lot of kilometres each day!”
After nearly two decades at Adelaide’s Cruise 1323, Huggy reflected on the transition, saying, “I’ve had the most fabulous 20+ years on Cruise 1323 and felt embraced by the SA listeners. Now I’m just a little further west.
