By Pragadish Kirubakaran in Media News on
Townsville radio icon and ACRA Hall of Famer Steve ‘Pricey’ Price OAM is returning to 102.3 Triple M to host Saturday Breakfast for the month of July. Pricey, who retired from Breakfast radio last year after 50 years in the industry over 40 years of which was spent in Townsville, expressed his excitement about the temporary return in an interview to RadioInfo.  "Maybe I need a three-hour break from the hammock and housework… maybe not the hammock. My one-time boss and forever friend ‘Smithy’ asked if I’d like to do what I love for a few Saturdays! I thought about it for 2 or 3 seconds, then asked for a map. So, I’ll be there at 6 am… or ten past, depends on if the Curlews wake me. Just for fun, and the joy of a weekend in the tropics!” said Pricey. SCA North Queensland Content Director, Daniel ‘Smithy’ Smith, called it a great addition, or re-addition, to the Triple M Townsville line-up. "To have somebody who lives and breathes North Queensland hosting Saturd

Today’s Ten: Cricket fever and more

By Staff Writer in Media News on
For the cricket-crazy nation, the return of captain Rohit Sharma’s eleven from Barbados with the T20 World Cup naturally became the news (rather photo story) of the day. Surrounded by lakhs of fans who thronged the Marine Drive in Mumbai for a victory parade cheering India’s victorious T20 team, atop an open bus, Mumbai traffic came to a grinding halt as the blue bus headed to Wankhede Stadium for a felicitation ceremony -- a photo that had to be on the frontpage top-slot of most leading dailies vindicating the country’s status as the latest Mecca of cricket. Rutwick Mehta of Hindustan Times captured that mood in just a few words with a striking comparison. "In November last year, as the ODI world champions Australia returned home, with captain Pat Cummins carrying his own luggage out of the airport, they were greeted by a handful of media personnel and a couple of black-tied officials. The welcome home for the T20 world champions India, safe to say, had a fair few more.

Announcing her decision on social media, Feeney candidly explained that she feels tired and low on fresh, creative ideas. “When you have four hours to fill, you end up having to talk about all the stuff going on in your life. 33 years is a long time ... basically, I just need a big rest,” she said. Feeney began her radio career at just 17 on Energy FM and later worked at The Edge before moving to MORE FM in 2018. Reflecting on her journey, she noted the personal cost of sharing her life on the air and expressed a desire to prioritize her mental health and clarity. “I’m excited to hit the road and discover more of the incredible stories that make up the remarkable tapestry of our culture. There are so many adventures ahead, whether it be with Back Roads, Muster Dogs, or new projects we’re cooking up. What a privilege it is to
