Parliamentary panel urges MIB to introduce Broadcasting Services Bill
By Staff Writer in Media News on Thursday, 13th March 2025 at 5:44pmThe Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology has urged the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to introduce the Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill in Parliament, according to a report tabled on Tuesday.
On January 17, the MIB informed the committee that it would draft a revised version of the bill and prepare a Cabinet Note for inter-ministerial consultation following stakeholder discussions, which were extended until October 15, 2024, reported Hindustan Times. The draft will then be submitted for cabinet approval.
