Veteran Indigenous reporter and photographer Wayne Coolwell dies

Broadcaster Wayne Coolwell, who was born in Brisbane in 1956, has sadly passed away, leaving behind a rich legacy of photography, sports reporting and Aboriginal coverage.
National Indigenous Radio Service’s reporter Rhianna Patrick has put together a moving and comprehensive report on Coolwell’s life and achievements, which you can read here.
In 1990, Coolwell became the inaugural presenter of ABC Radio’s national Indigenous program, Speaking Out, which continues to broadcast weekly and will celebrate its 35th year on air later this year.
