Tripura Working Journalists Association launches statewide outreach program

The Tripura Working Journalists Association (TWJA) has begun a statewide organisational visit to strengthen ties with grassroots journalists. On March 8, meetings were held in Kailashahar and Dharmanagar, with participation from reporters across North Tripura and Unakoti districts.
Association president Bijoy Pal and secretary Sunil Debnath engaged directly with field correspondents, who raised concerns over professional insecurity, low remuneration, and challenges faced during reporting assignments, Tripura Info reported.
Pal said similar meetings will be organised in other districts, while also voicing concern over “broker journalists” in the capital and alleging misuse of the profession by self‑styled leaders for political and financial interests.
