According to Ahmed Ali and Mateen Hafiz from Times of India, the Mumbai police have linked the murder to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, infamous for their involvement in organised crime. The Indian Express' Sagar Rajput, Mohamed Thaver further revealed that the Bishnoi gang has allegedly orchestrated this as a contract killing, drawing suspicions due to Baba’s political connections and previous disputes.
