Omnicom-IPG merger clears shareholder hurdle
By Staff Writer in Media News on Monday, 24th March 2025 at 2:04pmShareholders of Omnicom Group and Interpublic Group (IPG) have approved the proposed merger between the two advertising giants, marking a key step toward forming the world’s largest advertising network.
The vote, held on March 18, paves the way for a consolidation that will surpass Publicis Groupe and WPP in scale. Announced in December 2024, the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2025, pending regulatory clearance.
Post-merger, Omnicom shareholders will hold 60.6 per cent of the combined entity, with IPG shareholders owning 39.4 per cent.
Omnicom CEO John Wren described the approval as a “strong endorsement” of the deal’s strategic value. IPG CEO Phillippe Krakowsky said the merger would create a “customer-centric company” focused on long-term growth.
