Fell and The Age/SMH grab the Gold at 2025 Samsung IT Journalism Awards

ABC’s Julian Fell and The Age/SMH have taken home Gold Lizzies at the 23rd Annual Samsung Australian IT Journalism Awards this evening.  As well as the Best Journalist win, Fell also won the Lizzies for both Best Security Journalist and Best News Journalist categories.  In the winner’s circle for The Age/SMH, Tim Biggs and David Swan’s efforts were recognised in their winning submission for Best Consumer Technology Coverage, while their colleagues, Kate McClymont and Nick McKenzie’s work alongside The Fin’s Max Mason and Tess Bennett saw their WiseTech expose take home Best News Coverage.  Recognised for 30 years of CommsDay, Grahame Lynch took home the Pioneer of IT Journalism award as new awards, Best Science Journalist and Top Newsmaker Awards were awarded to Nature’s Smriti Mallapaty and IREN co-founder Daniel Roberts.
