AFL commentary line-up changes at Seven and Nine

The Melbourne sports anchor revealed his decision during Monday night’s news bulletin, reflecting on his career that began in 1994 after his retirement from Essendon. Watson expressed gratitude for his time at Seven, stating, “It’s been a privilege and a pleasure to be invited into people’s homes to deliver the sporting news.” His final sports bulletin will air on December 20 at 6:00 pm.
Chris Salter, director of 7NEWS Melbourne, praised Watson as a media legend and thanked him for his years of service, saying, “Viewers will miss him, and the newsroom will too.”
