Sudario’s new project to provide a voice for people of colour

By Will McLennan in Media News on
Tech and gaming journalist Erielle Sudario - Podcast Editor at Checkpoint Gaming - says her new WordPress blog, Eri Reviews Things, aims to amplify the voices of people of colour in the tech and gaming fields. Sudario told Influencing, “the aim is to showcase more people of colour in the review and op-ed space. I don't usually see people of colour talking about tech, gaming or music/TV unless you know where to look. For me, it's being able to diversify that pool of writers in my way. “It's just me throwing my hat in the ring and being able to showcase what I love.  “I'm doing this during my spare time. It's like a side hustle for me, but I hope that in 2025, I'm able to showcase who I am as a writer.” Content posted on Eri Reviews Things appears bi-weekly to monthly, something she believes is a “perfect balance”. Though she’s a tech and gaming journalist by trade, she’s keen to expand beyond those two subject areas on Eri Reviews Things.  “Eri Reviews Things

But what made this era special wasn't just the abundance of work for journalists or the clear separation between advertising and editorial content - it was the invaluable mentorship system that helped nurture the next generation of tech journalists, says Kidman. He fondly remembers learning from veterans who took the time to share their expertise and guide newcomers in the craft of ethical journalism. Today, as Kidman looks at the drastically changed landscape of Australian tech journalism, he

SC says cops must learn free speech, but can the courts define it?

By Pragadish Kirubakaran, Pradeep Damodaran and Neeraja Gopalakrishnan in Media News on
The Supreme Court of India delivered a sharp rebuke to the Gujarat Police, emphasising that law enforcement must understand and value the right to free speech and expression, particularly 75 years after the Constitution came into force. The court, while hearing a case concerning an FIR against Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi over a satirical poem, emphasised that police forces across the country must grasp the fundamental right to free expression. The Supreme Court took a firm stance against the Gujarat High Court’s reasoning in the case. Reading aloud the poem’s translation, the bench on Monday stated: “Those who are bloodthirsty, listen to us. Even if the fight for justice is met with injustice, we will meet that injustice with love…This is what the translation of this poem is…What else can it be but promoting non-violence?” stated the bench of justices led by Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan.
