PPR hires new senior staff

Melissa Millard and Shaun Scanlan are now onboard with AU/NZ agency PPR, as announced at B&T today.  
 
The company stated that Millard will report to the PPR office in Sydney as the new people and culture director, bringing with her 20 years of management experience gained mostly in Europe.
 
Former Grill’d content manager Shaun Scanlan is going to PPR’s Melbourne office as the company’s new national social media manager.

Citadel-MAGNUS welcomes new Perth AD

Corporate PR agency Citadel-MAGNUS has hired Yvonne Ball to be the Perth office’s new assistant director.

Ball has a strong pedigree in corporate communications, having worked for energy firm Woodside Energy Ltd and mining firm Fortescue Metals Group and later became APAC regional director for Royal Bank of Canada.

She also has a raft of business journalism experience, earning her stripes at the Australian Financial Review and Dow Jones Newswires, among others.

PRIA announces Golden Target winners

The Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) held its annual Golden Target Awards last night at the Sydney Opera House, with what is reportedly the largest-ever field of nominees spread across 29 categories.

“There is no higher honour in Australia for Public Relations and Communication professionals than winning a National Golden Target Award, and this year the Awards attracted a record number of entries from all sectors of the industry, and from every State and Territory in the country,” said PRIA CEO Anne Howard.

Red welcomes and promotes fresh talent

Red Agency has shared details on a new round of fresh staff movements.
 
As reported by B&T, the company took in Mary Proulx and Alex Erasmus as fresh hires. Proulx is the agency’s new social media director, reporting to Head of Social Davitha Ghiassi. Proulx, who hails from Canada, will manage social media activities at the Red Agency’s three offices, especially with the launch of the company’s new #RedSocial campaign. Erasmus is a senior account director at the Sydney office, tackling various tech accounts. He has years of experience handling campaigns in Europe, New Zealand, and Japan.
 
On the lateral movement front, current client services director Grant Richmond-Coggan is now business director. He has been with the company for two years and will aid in the generation of strategic content for interested clients.

PR company Agent99 has been put in charge of handling the launch of Sam Cawthorn’s second book, Storyshowing.
 
The company originally took care of building audience interest for Cawthorn’s first book, Bounce Forward. PR outfit Red Agency has welcomed popular travel website Booking.com as one of its clients, Mumbrella reported today.
 
A Booking.com representative stated that Red will be hired to assist in marketing the website for international campaigns and craft new creative content geared towards Australian travelers.
 
The development comes off an already successful October run for Red Agency, with fresh gongs at the PRIA State Awards as well as signing on with renewable energy firm Neoen.
