PPR and BCW formed into one agency

Pamela Klioufis, managing director, BCW Australia (photo credit: WPP AUNZ/BCW)WPP AUNZ member-agency PPR has been officially combined with international communications agency Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW), another arm of the conglomerate.

The merger calls for BCW’s experience in the global market and associated systems to be integrated with PPR and help it attain a greater reach in the ANZ region. The news comes after PPR CEO Michael Pooley announced his departure to open a new consultancy.

Pamela Klioufis (pictured), managing director of BCW’s Australian division, has agreed to lead the new company. She has been at the post since October 2018, when she joined BCW after over five years as director and later managing director of Burston Marsteller Australia.  

“The global thinking, experience, tools and systems of BCW, combined with the unparalleled local ANZ reach of PPR, make for a perfect match. We look forward to our existing clients benefiting from this offer and to attracting new clients and people to BCW,” said WPP AUNZ PR & GR CEO Kieran Moore.

“BCW’s Australian operation has already doubled in size over the past 18 months, both in terms of revenue and headcount. VERSA puts in Sydney staff

VX agency VERSA has enlisted new upper-level personnel for its office in Sydney.

The agency announced that current global business director Guy Munro will relocate from Melbourne to work in the Sydney office. He has been with the company for three years including service with VERSA predecessor agency Deepend. 

Elizabeth Croger is also making the move to Sydney as the newly-promoted client engagement director. She has been with VERSA and Deepend for most of the past five years as account director and senior account director. 

Gavin McDonough comes aboard as branch GM. He was co-founder and managing partner of Urban Australia and has since moved to non-executive director.

Dan Taylor takes up a national post for analytics, data, and insights. He joins from Service NSW, where he served as data and analytics consultant from January to July 2019. He also worked at Deepend, HotHouse, and TBWA.

Anne Wild and Associates earns Lux Collective deal

Independent communications agency Anne Wild and Associates (AWA) has landed Australian PR representation rights for Mauritian hospitality conglomerate The Lux Collective, reported Mumbrella.

The account win followed a pitch process that came about as Lux’s account representative in Australia relocated to a new job in Singapore after eight years of work. It also followed the agency’s recent landing of an account for Visit Maldives. 

The Lux Collective comprises hotel brands LUX* Resorts and Hotels, Salt, and the Tamassa Resort in Bel Ombre, Mauritius, plus Socio, a new urban hotel set to open in 2021. The LUX* brand has properties in Mauritius, the Maldives, Reunion Island, China, Vietnam, Italy, the UAE, Turkey, and France.

DEC PR scores Sydney Fish Market deal

DEC PR has won the representation rights for the famous Sydney Fish Market.

The partnership is already in effect. DEC PR landed the role after a competitive pitch. The account win follows DEC’s recent adding of the Hotel Intercontinental Sydney into its hospitality/tourism portfolio.

Baldwin Boyle Group earns new accounts

The Australian arm of communications consultancy Baldwin Boyle Group has three new clients to work with.

The first client, water technology firm ZIP Water, will have Baldwin Boyle running its internal and external corporate communications. ZIP produces a line of tapware for home and commercial functions. 

For WINConnect, Baldwin Boyle will be in charge of PR for media, general audiences, and government clients. WINConnect offers network solutions for internet, power, and water systems at multi-unit communities.

Pental Ltd is the third new client. Baldwin Boyle will collaborate with Pental management on generating more awareness of the company’s home and hygiene product brands, such as The Australian Country Life body soap and Huggie laundry fluid.

Wunderman Thompson lands Victorian Government gig

Wunderman Thompson’s Melbourne office has secured a three-year contract with the Victorian Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).

The new deal calls for Wunderman Thompson to spearhead the DJCS’ Fire Season Campaign, which will educate residents on the dangers of bushfires and grassfires, especially as the summer season sets in. 

The DJCS and Wunderman Thompson will liaise with state agencies such as Emergency Management Victoria, the Country Fire Authority, and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade in the execution of the campaign.

Dialogue PR+Communications is kicking off October with three new clients, reported Mumbrella.

The first client, Accolade Wines, has tasked Dialogue to run PR and communications strategy, content development, and media relations for its entire product line.
