Neerja Sekhar appointed Special Secretary of MIB
By Staff Writer in Media News on Tuesday, 22nd October 2024 at 7:54pmNeerja Sekhar, currently the additional secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), has been promoted to Special Secretary, as confirmed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
A 1993 batch IAS officer of the Haryana Cadre, Sekhar’s role has been temporarily upgraded to match the rank and pay of the Secretary to the Government of India.
This promotion recognises Sekhar’s extensive 31-year career, which includes significant contributions to policy formulation for the media and entertainment sector, as well as development projects in education, food security, and industrial financing. She also serves as a nominated member of the Prasar Bharati Board.
