Guardian reveals Katherine Murphy’s replacement

Guardian Australia has appointed Karen Middleton as its new Political Editor. She will replace Katherine Murphy who recently assumed a new position in Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s office.
Middleton joins Guardian from her most recent position as the chief political correspondent of The Saturday Paper, a position she held for eight years.
Middleton shared the news of her appointment on the X platform expressing her gratitude for a remarkable stint at The Saturday Paper and excitement about moving to The Guardian Aus political desk.
