Roy Morgan Report: Written news tops Australian media with 97% reach

By Pragadish Kirubakaran in Media News on
The latest Roy Morgan research reveals that written news continues to reach 97 per cent of Australians aged 14 and older each month, translating to 21.5 million readers. This impressive reach underscores the expansive and deep engagement that news media offers advertisers across both print and digital platforms. Key findings from the research highlight the frequent and deep engagement with news content. Australians interact with news 67 million times per week, with three in five readers engaging with three or more news categories beyond general and breaking news. This level of engagement reinforces the premium nature of news content and its value to advertisers. Digital accessibility has also broadened the reach of state and territory mastheads, significantly increasing their readership beyond local markets. State-based news titles have seen up to a 137 per cent increase in interstate readership, demonstrating strong national interest and offering added media value for advertisers.
