Crinkling News now off the presses

Publication founders Saffron Howden and Remi Bianchi said in an official message that they could no longer operate due to inadequate funds. They used their redundancy compensation from Fairfax plus a recent crowdfunding campaign to finance the paper’s operations, from hosting young editors to managing subscriptions. They acknowledged that a “much bigger business, government, or philanthropy” is needed to keep the publication alive.
The officials looked back on the success of the paper, which gave opportunities for young children to write and cover news in a professional setting, as well as to organise MediaMe, the country’s inaugural children’s media literacy conferenc...
