Eddie McGuire joins Seven to produce AFL shows

By Staff writer in Media News on
Eddie McGuire will produce two AFL programs for Seven despite his recent criticism of the network, reported Mumbrella.  McGuire’s production company JAM TV will create Sunday Footy Feast and The Wash Up, which will be part of Seven’s Sunday AFL coverage. He will also continue producing AFL programming for Nine and downplayed the significance of his move stating that his company produces shows for all networks including Seven. Speculation about McGuire joining Seven intensified when Seven’s news boss, Anthony De Ceglie, visited JAM TV’s offices. In September, McGuire mocked Seven’s move to hire Nine’s Footy Classified hosts Kane Cornes, Caroline Wilson, and Craig Hutchison, sarcastically calling it “channel copycat.”

Samsung alum Scuteri takes on two YouTube channels

By Will McLennan in Media News on
Daniel Scuteri, the Tech with Benefits YouTube channel owner and producer, says he doesn’t just work on his own YouTube channel, but he also produces content for a second.   The former Samsung employee decided to create full-time videos on YouTube in January this year after receiving an offer from an external YouTube channel.  “I actually work on two YouTube channels,” Scuteri said. “I own my channel and make videos, but also produce content for another YouTube channel overseas called SamMobile.” Scuteri says the opportunity to record and produce videos for SamMobile came out of the blue, with the owner reaching out on one particular day. “[The opportunity] came about randomly. Coincidentally, the channel owner just started watching my videos, and they liked the content I was producing for my channel. And said what do you think about making videos for our channel? And I accepted.” “It started as a sporadic job and is now a full-time job alongside my own channe

Stifled by disputes and allegations, Chennai Press Club to hold elections after 25 years

By Pradeep Damodaran in Media News on
For the past several weeks now, there has been an unusual flurry of activity in an otherwise remote and desolate corner of the sprawling Government Estate campus in Chepauk, where the Chennai Pathrikaiyalar Mandram (commonly known as Chennai Press Club) is located. A small group of veteran city journalists have been assembling here almost every day to scrutinise hundreds of applications from fellow media professionals, often followed by in-person visits by the applicants, in an effort to streamline the membership to the prestigious club. The institution, in existence since 1970, was founded by former union minister and DMK stalwart Murasoli Maran. The senior journalists, part of the 12-member Special Guidance Committee constituted by the general body of the Press Club in August 2023, hope that their efforts will bear fruit on December 15, 2024, when elections will be held to fill the posts of president, vice president, general secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, and other mem
