Women’s content portal Mamamia is recruiting for a new evening editor, based in the Woolloomooloo offices.
The person will be assigned to work the 2PM-10PM shift Mondays to Thursdays, but 9AM-5PM on Sundays. Their tasks include directing the newsroom, developing story ideas, assigning stories to writers and editing/publishing their stories, and to write some articles from time to time. They will also be in charge of monitoring traditional and digital media channels for the latest news developments.
Candidates must be graduates of journalism or other media-related courses with at least five years’ journalism experience, preferably in digital news coverage. The person must also possess high-performance-team management skills, can work within deadlines, and be capable of mentoring staff.

The Cancer Institute NSW is in need of a media and PR advisor, to be based in St Leonard’s, Sydney, on a 12-month contract.
The person will be tasked to lead the Institute’s media relations efforts to increase awareness of cancer and potential solutions. They will also build communications with internal stakeholders, government agencies, and NGOs.
Candidates must be graduates of either communications, journalism, public relations, or media studies courses. They should have demonstrable experience in traditional/social media monitoring tools and practices, media database management, and development and execution of social awareness campaigns. Deep interest in Australian media, and the NSW and national health sectors is also highly preferred.
