24/25 WNBL Season - Round 8

Game Summary

The Perth Lynx maintained their strong form from their matchup with Southside on Thursday, to claim a 96-71 victory over Geelong United at home. It was a close game to begin with before Perth pulled away in the second quarter taking a 9 point lead at half-time. Perth maintained strong momentum in the third quarter, before Geelong threatened to comeback in the final term after consecutive stops and converting on the scoring end. However Perth stayed poise and extended the lead finishing the game strong.

A strong offensive display from the Lynx with a variety of scoring contributors made it difficult for Geelong on the defensive end. The Lynx had 6 players in double figures with Amy Atwell leading the way with 19 points. Anneli Maley added 14 whilst a foul troubled Laeticia Amihere had 13 points in only 13 minutes of play. Teige Morrell was a spark off the bench with 12 points of her own and 5 rebounds.

Haley Jones with 16 points and Keely Froling with 17 points led the way for Geelong, whilst Elissa Brett had herself a game shooting 4-8 from the 3 point line.
