Game Summary
The Adelaide Lightning head into Christmas with big smiles on their faces after an emphatic win over the Sydney Flames. The Flames led after every break, but the Lightning's final quarter sealed the deal for the South Australian team. Both teams are looking to cement their spot in the Top 4, which produced an exciting game of basketball.
The Flames welcomed back, New Zealand star Tahlia Tupaea who was excellent on her season debut, contributing with 18 points, the top scorer for Sydney. While US import, Celeste Taylor also played an important game, finishing with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Emma Clarke also made her return from injury, putting up 10 points for the game.
Despite Sydney's efforts for the majority of the game, stars on the Adelaide Lightning team helped them to their fourth win of the season. Issie Bourne stood out with her leadership and drives in the key but was fouled out in the last, she contributed with 13 points. The star of the game was Isobel Borlase who put up 22 points and was the main driver for the Lightning. A special mention to Brianna Turner who finished with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Both teams now look to enjoy their short Christmas break before they both host home games in Round 9.
