Game Summary
The Sydney Flames claim their third win of the season, with a monumental night for their Captain, Cayla George. George reached 5000 career WNBL points as she continued to stamp her mark on the league. It was a close game for most of the match, but the Flames pulled away in the last quarter to solidify their home win. After only a two-day break, Perth looked lethargic towards the end as Sydney put their foot down to showcase their brilliant basketball.
As mentioned, Cayla George was the star of the night, finishing with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Shaneice Swain contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The Flames produced a complete team performance to knock off the second-placed team. Shout out to Emma Clarke and Carla Pitman, who both finished with 13 points.
Despite the bitter loss, Perth's Anneli Maley still managed to record a double-double. The Lynx will look forward to their next game at home against the UC Capitals, as they aim to get back onto the winner's list.
While the Sydney Flames record their second win in a row, to bring momentum into their next match against Geelong United in Geelong.
