Lizzies Open for Entry December 13th

Influencing is pleased to announce entries for the Australian IT Journalism Awards - aka 'the Lizzies' - will open on December 13th.

The Award night will be held on March 28th, 2025 at Doltone House on Jones Bay Wharf.

We would like to thank our supporters, without whom these awards are not possible. Peer-judged, the awards will celebrate the best Australian technology coverage published in 2024. Featuring 21 awards across various beats, we're happy to welcome the Science Journalism Community for the first time with our new 'Best Science Journalist' Award in conjunction with the Science Journalists Association of Australia.

"The Science Journalists Association of Australia is thrilled to see a Best Science Journalist award at this year's Lizzies," said SJAA President Jackson Ryan. 

"Science journalism is more vital than it has ever been because we exist in a time where facts and truth and the fabric of reality are all under attack. We cannot share in unrealities, sparked by division and politicking and misinformation. Such a path leads to darkness. So, to bastardise a quote from that dashing do-gooder Carl Sagan, science journalism can be a candle in the dark -- and it has been. I can't wait to see the applications for this award and to celebrate the best Australia has to offer."

Tickets for the event will also go on sale from the 13th for non-journalist entrant attendees. We hope to see you all on the night!
