Melton, Victoria - Faraja Inclusion Agency is thrilled to announce the launch of its Youth Roundtable Series, a bold new initiative designed to empower young people from multicultural communities to reach their full potential. Over the next three years, this series will offer a unique platform for youth to engage with leaders, develop essential skills, and build a support network to help them tackle personal and professional challenges. The goal of the series is to create opportunities for learning, leadership growth, and community involvement, helping young people emerge as the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow.
The first event of this inspiring series took place on August 31st, 2024 in Melton and was a huge success. More than 25 participants, aged 18 to 25, gathered to explore important topics related to personal growth, leadership, and community building.
The roundtable, titled "How to Achieve Your Goals and Realise Your Full Potential," featured two respected guest speakers: Andrew Gai, a Family Violence Educator and 2020 Australia Day Award recipient, and Ulrik Mageza, a renowned Australian singer-songwriter. Both speakers delivered powerful talks on overcoming barriers and pursuing success.
"On Saturday, I had the privilege of joining and speaking at the Faraja Inclusion Agency Youth Roundtable in Melton. We discussed how young people can discover their purpose in life and overcome the challenges faced by those from multicultural backgrounds in Australia," said Andrew Gai.
Ulrik Mageza echoed the significance of the event, stating:
"It was such a refreshing space to be in because you don't really see a lot of spaces being created for young multicultural adults. For them to actually show up means that events like this are needed, and more of them should happen in our communities."
In addition to the inspiring speeches, the event featured interactive discussions where participants shared their accomplishments and aspirations. Many attendees felt a renewed sense of motivation and expressed a desire to contribute more to their communities.
Jack Chakoma, Chairperson of Faraja Inclusion Agency, commented on the importance of launching the Youth Roundtable Series:
"The Youth Roundtable Series is all about giving young people a voice and the chance to connect with real role models. We want to inspire them and show them they have the power to shape their own futures."
The event concluded with many participants expressing interest in volunteering with Faraja Inclusion Agency and collaborating on future projects. The successful launch of the Youth Roundtable sets a solid foundation for the remaining sessions in the series, which are designed to offer more opportunities for multicultural youth to thrive.
