Swoop Aero Celebrates Longest-Standing Integrated Drone Logistics Network Globally: Three Years of Ongoing Operations in Malawi

Announcement posted by Swoop Aero 01 Dec 2022

November 30, 2022, MELBOURNE, Australia – Swoop Aero, a global leader in integrated drone logistics, today announced three years of ongoing operations in Malawi, the longest-standing integrated drone logistics network in the world. This is a significant milestone not only for the organisation but for the whole industry, and recognizes Swoop Aero's leadership.

Swoop Aero has successfully sustained operations in Malawi for over 3 years, working with some of the largest players in global logistics, including UNICEF, UKAID, UPS and VillageReach.

This significant milestone is a testament to the value of integrated drone logistics networks not just in Malawi but globally. The network delivers services for an entire population, bolstering the effectiveness of industry verticals including medical transport, emergency management, disaster response, search and rescue, retail delivery, and e-commerce shipping.

We have proven that Swoop Aero is a world leader in drone logistics and I'm proud of the game-changing work we’re doing in Malawi. Our continued operations there reinforce the pivotal role that integrated drone logistics plays in global supply chains,” said Swoop Aero’s CEO and Co-Founder, Eric Peck. “Our vision is for a world where seamless supply chains bring emotional and economic prosperity for all they serve, and that’s precisely what we are doing in Malawi. We look forward to continuing to deliver on our ground-breaking work as we work towards our goal of providing an integrated logistics service to one billion people by 2030.”

Swoop Aero commenced operations in 2019 with USAID under their Global Health Supply Chain Program in the North of Malawi. The success of this network accelerated the opportunity to expand Swoop Aero’s integrated drone logistics network to service new areas in the country.

The following year, Swoop Aero expanded operations in partnership with UNICEF and UKAID to launch an integrated drone logistics network in South Malawi. That network expanded further in partnership with VillageReach to scale existing drone operations in Malawi nationally, reaching 3 million people.

Over the next five years, Swoop Aero will scale up its integrated drone logistics network in Malawi to service the whole country with a range of services from medical transport, emergency management, disaster response, search and rescue, retail delivery, and e-commerce shipping towards the company’s goal of providing an integrated logistics service to 100 million people in 2025, then scaling it to one billion by 2030, a reality.
