Showcasing the region's creators, makers, growers, bakers and retail movers and shakers with late night shopping and a twilight market against a backdrop of a spectacular light show
Saturday, December 3 - 4pm to 9pm
Upper Lachlan Shire Council is proud to announce the inaugural Crookwell Twilight Christmas Fair is taking place on Saturday 3rd December between 4pm and 9pm.
Businesses from across the Upper Lachlan and Southern Tablelands regions are taking part in this exciting event that will see Crookwell transform into a bustling hub of main street late night shopping, Christmas window displays, outdoor dining and a special twilight market featuring stalls packed with yuletide goodness. Visitors can browse artisan goods from local eateries and wineries, makers of handmade products, growers of local produce and boutique gift retailers.
Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, locals and visitors will be treated to lively street entertainment, including live music, roving carollers, costume characters on stilts, and of course, Santa and his elves!
There will be activities for the whole family, with Christmas Wonderland and inflatable zones for the kids, and a Southern Tablelands Arts stall where artists will show visitors clever ways to create their own decorations.
Also for the kids, Hephner the alpaca will be there, dressed in his Santa costume and ready for photo ops!
As the sun sets, there'll be the official lighting of the town's massive Christmas tree, followed by the launch of a spectacular light show, illuminating the town's buildings with moving images depicting Christmas - a must-visit for those keen on stunning festive season social media pics.
This state-of-the-art light show will light up Crookwell's main street every night leading up to Christmas and will be launched at the event by Mayor Pam Kensit with the Minister for Local Government, The Hon. Wendy Tuckerman, MP.
General Manager of Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Colleen Worthy says the Crookwell Twilight Christmas Fair aims to support businesses from the shire and surrounding regions, while creating an exciting destination for visitors from outside the region. Mrs Worthy says, "The event is being funded by the NSW Government - Reconnecting Regional NSW Program. "We are so excited to be planning an event of this scale to encourage visitors to the Shire and treat locals to an amazing festive experience, and I want to say a massive thanks to our Tourism team who have worked tirelessly to bring the event together.
"It is also a unique opportunity for businesses to be part of a Christmas Fair like no other ... an exciting destination for Christmas shoppers that will be marketed across the region and Canberra."
