New Mental Health Podcast for NOVA Entertainment.

Announcement posted by Amy Molloy 09 Jun 2022

Sass & Something! — a podcast that's going to show up for your struggles.

Self-help? Err, we feel exhausted thinking about it. When life is stressful, inner healing can feel like another thing on our to-do list. Well, it’s time to rebrand ‘the work’ with a self-support show you actually want to listen to (and laugh along to!)

Sass + Something! — a wellness show that will show up for your struggles — is the latest podcast to launch on NOVA Entertainment. Hosted by journalist and mindfulness counsellor, Amy Molloy and mindset coach Katie Dean, they’re all up in your ears with the trifecta of inner healing: sweary self-support, truth bombs about mental health and a subtle hint of spirituality.

Each week, Amy and Katie will delve into an emotional topic, drawing on their own lived experiences. As a young widow and eating disorder thriver, Amy has used her high-profile career as a journalist to end the stigma around mental health issues. As a coach, Katie draws on her personal victories, navigating single parenthood whilst thriving alongside anxiety.

Both hosts have previous successes with podcasts. Katie was the host of her own show, Simply Complicated, which topped 100 episodes. Amy is the writer behind Nova’s mindfulness podcast, The Space, which has surpassed 3 million downloads. Both hosts are bestselling authors in the wellness space.

“Even though we both work in the self-help space, we know the phrase can feel judgey,” says Katie. “We’re here to normalise, de-mystify and snort-laugh our way through a whole range of topics that are wearing you down. It’s amazing how much fun you can have talking about deep issues.”

Season one topics include

  • It’s not you, it’s your nervous system
  • What you don’t say, says everything
  • The big body image convo
  • What’s the deal with sober curiosity?
  • Relationship red flags
  • Should you change your name?
  • Stop apologising and start living.

“Self-help feels like something you have to do alone, which only adds to the shame,” says Amy. “We want to talk about emotional healing in an out-there way. This is a podcast you can listen to on the way to a date, during school drop-off or whilst you’re at the gym. Emotional epiphanies can happen anywhere – and even be entertaining!”

Sass + Something! is available from June 7, with new episodes every Tuesday. The episodes are available wherever you get your podcast. Listen here: https://www.novafm.com.au/podcast/sass-something/ or https://omny.fm/shows/sass-something
