Announcement posted by Eduvidd 09 Feb 2022
Eduvidd has recently been awarded a Federal Government Boosting Female Founders Grant to aid in their global expansion in the United Kingdom, Australian and New Zealand markets.
Founded by the sole female director, Kaitlyn Sapier, Eduvidd is a training content platform that improves patient outcomes and safety through adaptive, timely and engaging online education from global experts.
Managing Director, Kaitlyn Sapier said “We currently provide education to thousands of healthcare professionals in Queensland and have over 50 subject matter experts from across the world on board our mission. We want to move the needle on continuous professional development from being a boring, compliance exercise to something healthcare professionals look forward to doing and becoming the driver of high quality medical services in Australia and globally so that every patient can feel safe and confident whenever they interface with the healthcare system."
Eduvidd has not received any external funding or grants previously and has been bootstrapped to date.
“This kind of support from the Federal Government is going to be a game changer for Eduvidd, for every patient and every hardworking frontline healthcare worker in Australia. We can now push into the United Kingdom market and uplift our existing video content to a Hollywood film standard.”
The mission of Eduvidd was driven by Kaitlyn’s experience in the healthcare system as a patient with a chronic illness.
“I would have been in a wheelchair for the rest of my life if I had not pushed to run extensive tests after experiencing strange health symptoms at age 23. My story is not unique. There are thousands of patients who are misdiagnosed or dismissed during their healthcare journey every year just because the healthcare professional didn’t have the right information or education about their condition, and as a result, had a poorer experience, prognosis, or in some cases, died. This is not the fault of the medical professional: they are already time and resource constrained and at capacity with medical knowledge that they need to remember, then throw COVID in the mix. It is our shared responsibility to find a better way to provide just-in-time learning and best practice education for the healthcare industry with the technology and experts we have available now.”
Eduvidd has had the support of great Australian businesses like OpenLearning, GO1 and now the Federal Government.
“We owe our success thus far to the amazing partners, subject matter experts, patients and clients that we have had the great fortune of working with and hope to gain many more in 2022. We’re so excited to have the opportunity to improve patient outcomes in international markets with the support of the Boosting Female Founders Grant.” said Kaitlyn Sapier.
