After working as a stylist, manager and buyer for labels and stores such as Brown’s, South Molton St London, Jag, Oroton and David Jones, Katie gained valuable insight into the business and commercial side of the fashion world and finally made the decision to follow her dreams of creating an Aussie-made fashion label. Katie launched her loungewear label in 2007, and after a strong response trademarked her label in 2008 and expanded her range. Katie says starting her own label was a natural progression for her and something she had always aspired to do. “Fashion runs through my blood. My great grandfather was a wool merchant and my mother worked closely with the Benetton brothers. My mother also has a very strong entrepreneurial streak and I admired that in her growing up; it’s what I knew. I hope my passion for pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo to create something that’s accessible, inclusive, sustainable and a better way forward for our planet will rub off on my own children, too,” Katie says.
