He is already slated to relocate to Broome, WA for a new role with ABC.
Williams started with 2CC in April 2014, covering all developments in the ACT. He also worked to produce a number of new shows and did presenter duties.
He also sidelined as freelance sports commentator for the NEAFL, AFL Canberra, VFL, ACT netball, and local rugby league.

Mark Dransfield Joins Australian Independent Radio News

Former senior 4BC Breakfast producer Mark Dransfield has joined the on-air lineup at Australian Independent Radio News according to Radio Today.
Dransfield has a diverse background in radio, having worked at stations such as 4BH and QFM, and has experience as a TV producer for Channel 7’s Sunrise and Ten’s Morning Show. Most recently, he served as a traffic reporter for the Australian Traffic Network, providing reports for Brisbane.
He will begin his new role at Air News immediately.
Triple M announces 2025 Drive Show Lineup

The Triple M network has unveiled its 2025 Drive show lineup, featuring popular personalities and expanded markets as part of its growth strategy, SCA announced in a press release.
The Marty Sheargold Show will air nationally from 3-4 PM, Monday to Friday, and will continue from 4-6 PM in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and all regional markets in New South Wales and Queensland. Sheargold, a beloved comedian and radio personality, aims to provide entertaining content for listeners during their commutes.
The Rush Hour with JB & Billy, which has enjoyed success in Victoria and Tasmania for over 15 years, will now expand its reach to South and Western Australia, airing from 4-6 PM, Monday to Friday across Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth, and regional stations in those states. The show has received strong survey results and ranks among Australia’s top podcasts, attracting over 120,000 unique monthly listeners.

Award-winning journalist Sally Sara has been named the new presenter of Radio National Breakfast, starting in 2025. This announcement was made during the program by outgoing presenter Patricia Karvelas. ABC has put out a press release on the changes.
Sally brings a wealth of experience, having reported from over 40 countries as an ABC foreign correspondent, including regions like Africa, Iraq, India, and Afghanistan. She has previously worked on programs such as Landline and Foreign Correspondent and has hosted The World Today since 2020. Expressing her enthusiasm, Sally stated, “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to join the Radio National Breakfast team. I can’t wait to engage the audience with stories from across the country and around the world.”

Elly Bailey, the woman behind the Elly Awesome Tech Tiktok and YouTube channel, says she is “very honoured” to be nominated in the “Learn On Tiktok” category at this year’s Australian TikTok Awards.
“It’s really crazy to be nominated,” said Bailey, “Just to be on the list, I feel insanely flattered, and there are so many people that deserve a spot or deserve to win even over me.”
Bailey described the TikTok Awards, which will be held on November 27, as a “mini Oscars” for TikTok creators.
“The TikTok Awards will be hosted by Robert Irwin and some famous content creators, and I'm sure we'll have different live shows and performances. I don't know what's in store, but I know that TikTok likes to put on a show, and I'm really excited to be a part of it.”

Veteran ABC journalist and author Matt Peacock passes away after battle with cancer

Former ABC journalist and author Matt Peacock has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer, the ABC confirmed earlier today.
Peacock, known for his fearless journalism, served as a foreign correspondent in London, New York, and Washington, as well as the ABC’s chief political correspondent for programs like AM and The World Today. His acclaimed book Killer Company, which exposed asbestos-related cover-ups by James Hardie Industries, was later adapted into the ABC miniseries Devil’s Dust.
Beginning his ABC career in 1973 as a cadet, Peacock dedicated decades to investigative reporting, advocating for marginalized communities. In 2013, he was elected by his peers as the staff representative on the ABC board.
ABC Chair Kim Williams in a condolence note said, “Matt was a courageous and principled journalist, deeply trusted by audiences. He believed in the ABC’s integrity and urged his colleagues to uphold it without compromise. We will miss his friendship and wisdom.
Adelaide’s top-rating Afternoons host Molly Rose to depart Triple M

Adelaide’s top Afternoons announcer, Molly Rose, announced on Instagram that she will be leaving Triple M at the end of November. “I guess all good times (and greatest hits) come to an end,” she shared.
Molly departs after celebrating her fourth consecutive #1 rating in the Afternoon slot, achieving a 16.4% share. Her departure follows the recent news that Rush Hour with Bernie Vince, Greg Blewett, and Andrew Jarman will not return in 2025.
Reflecting on her time at Triple M, Molly expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “I love this team... it’s been a dream come true to work here.” Known for her warmth and authenticity, Molly's post drew an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues alike.

ABC Unveils New Roles for Patricia Karvelas and Greg Jennett Ahead of 2025

The ABC has announced new roles for prominent journalists Patricia Karvelas and Greg Jennett in 2025 according to a media release from the organisation.
Patricia Karvelas will expand her ABC NEWS presence, leaving Radio National after 10 years. Alongside hosting Q+A and The Party Room podcast, she will now anchor Afternoon Briefing on ABC iview and ABC NEWS Channel each weekday. Karvelas will also launch Politics Now, a podcast delivering political analysis and daily updates during the federal election campaign.
Greg Jennett, after three years on Afternoon Briefing, will assume a senior role in Canberra. He will present the ACT 7PM News from Sunday to Thursday, conduct Stateline interviews, and contribute to federal election coverage.
The current ACT 7PM News presenter, James Glenday, will transition to a new project next year.
