Veteran journalist Gerald Stone has died

One of the Nine Network’s journalism icons, Gerald Stone, has died at 87 years of age.
Nine CEO Hugh Marks announced the news in a staff circular where he took note of Stone’s legacy since migrating to Australia with his family in 1962.
Stone is well-known for establishing the Australian edition of US investigative show 60 Minutes on Nine back in 1979, which has built a reputation for training several now-prominent reporters such as Jana Wendt and Ray Martin.
“Gerald occupies a lofty pedestal in Nine’s history and a profound place in our hearts,” said Marks.
