The West Australian introduces paywall content

The West Australian is offering readers a brand-new subscription content service.
The service will offer so-called “freemium” content but the more in-depth articles will only be available to West Australian readers who have digital access options activated in their subscription account.
An “Everyday Digital” access option will be priced at just $1 a day and $9 if the weekend editions are included.
“At the heart of our strategy is that our readers are passionate about the journalism we produce every single day,” explained The West Australian senior editor Anthony de Ceglie.
