THE BRIEF: Bridging the divide

Yesterday, if you squinted hard enough at the massed crowds tramping through the rain on the Sydney Harbour Bridge you could just about make out, here and there, a few protesters among all the journos. I jest, of course. This is serious stuff. Still, the stacked bylines of journos topping front-page reports across the land tells its own story. Events like this are why journos get out of bed – even on a Sunday.
Gaza is the only story to push Trump, Epstein, Tariffs to the margins, and even if the Titanic sank again it would probably only make page 5. It's hard to think of a subject more deserving of our collective attention in the moment yet more divisive.
