Sunshine Coast Daily appoints Burnett as editor-in-chief

The current deputy editor of the Sunshine Daily Coast, Darren Burnett (pictured), has been promoted to editor-in-chief, after Mark Furler left to take a group digital editor role at the newspaper’s publisher APN.
It’s a role that has been intertwined in Burnett’s upbringing, as his father Bob Burnett was a well-respected senior writer for the Daily when the paper launched in 1980.
General manager Grant Ferry said he was delighted a local, internal figure had been selected from a vast field of candidates from across Australia.
