Stevens takes the top job at The Manly Daily

News Limited has confirmed the appointment of Melissa Stevens as editor of local newspaper The Manly Daily, a post left vacant when former editor Luke McIlveen left to take the reins at news.com.au.
Stevens is the current deputy managing editor of The Daily Telegraph, and has also edited the daily giveaway newspaper mX. She was nominated for a student journalism Walkley in 2009.
“During her two and a half years as mX editor, Melissa demonstrated a great connection with the commuter readership and I know she will show similar understanding of the needs, interests and passions of consumers of The Manly Daily,” said News Limited’s group editorial director Campbell Reid.
