Stein forced out of ABC

The ABC has made veteran reporter Ginny Stein redundant.
The Australian’s Stephen Brook reported that she was served a redundancy “against her will.” Stein was one of four reporters at current affairs show Lateline who were invited to apply for two specific positions since the show was scrapped last November after 27 years on the air. She is already preparing legal action over her sudden exit. ABC management has declined to elaborate.
Stein had been engaging in other assignments during the run-up to Lateline’s cancellation. One of these assignments was covering the death of Filipino teenager Kian delos Santos, who was allegedly executed by police officers during an anti-drug operation in the Philippines despite not being under suspicion.
