Scire appoints inaugural editor-in-chief

McDuling takes up the role from his most recent position as a national business editor at The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, covering companies, markets, finance, technology, and media.
Scire chief executive Chris Janz told The Australian he intended to hire about 50 staff, almost all of whom would be experienced business journalists.
“We want to invest in the newsroom, not in the bits that don’t result in as much output.
“We want people who understand the areas of coverage that we’re going after.
“I’m not looking to build a newsroom of cadets - it’s absolutely going to be a newsroom founded on experience.”
