SBS launches a free-to-air multilingual news channel
By Staff Writers in Media News on Monday, 23rd May 2022 at 11:47pmSBS has launched SBS WorldWatch, a 24-hour free-to-air multilingual news channel, featuring news bulletins from leading international broadcasters in more than 35 languages as well as SBS’s Arabic and Mandarin TV news.
SBS WorldWatch broadcasts international news services from 30 countries, providing perspectives from around the world. It aims to expand SBS’ multilingual services for audiences across TV, radio and digital platforms by enabling the culturally and linguistically diverse communities to watch news in their preferred language.
SBS Managing director James Taylor said in an announcement that a multilingual strategy is at the heart of SBS.
