Mediaweek’s Trent Thomas steps down amid sexual harassment allegations

Trent Thomas, the managing director and publisher of Mediaweek, has stepped back from his role following allegations of sexual harassment against female staff members.
According to AFR, Mediaweek engaged independent HR consultants to investigate and address concerns brought by two employees, implementing a prevention and response plan, HR training, and robust HR guidelines to eliminate unlawful conduct in the workplace.
Following the investigation, it was revealed that Thomas cut ties with one external HR firm investigating complaints of his alleged inappropriate conduct. A second HR firm later concluded it was “more likely than not” that Thomas had bullied and sexually harassed a team member.
