Matt Heath leaves Radio Hauraki for Newstalk ZB
By Staff writer in Media News on Wednesday, 18th September 2024 at 2:02pmMatt Heath has announced his departure from the Radio Hauraki breakfast show, which he co-hosted with Jeremy Wells for over a decade, to join Newstalk ZB Afternoons. The announcement, made on air this morning, has surprised many in the industry, according to Radio Info.
Heath, known for his work as a writer, producer, actor, sports commentator, and frontman of the rock band Deja Voodoo, will be joining Tyler Adams, the Afternoons executive producer and senior reporter at Newstalk ZB.
A spokesperson for Newstalk ZB expressed excitement about Heath’s move, stating, “They will complement our lineup and engage our loyal listeners.”
Heath’s last day on Radio Hauraki will be Friday, October 4, and he is set to begin his new role at Newstalk ZB on Monday, October 7.
