The Supreme Court (SC) of India recently confirmed that Section 6A of the Citizenship Act is constitutional. This section grants citizenship to people who moved from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) to Assam before March 24, 1971. The court ruled that this law added post-Assam Accord, does not violate the Constitution and is a valid way to address migration issues in Assam. ACE Radio has announced Scott Menz as the new assistant content director for Metro, Radio Today reported.  After two years as an announcer at ACE, Scott will now take on additional content responsibilities as the ACE Metro stations—3MP, Magic 1278, 2UE, and 4BH—continue to grow their audiences. Scott will collaborate closely with content director Jon Vertigan and operations manager Dave Brunton. His experience includes roles as content director and Breakfast EP at Triple M Brisbane and within the Nova network. Having started his career with ACE Radio at 3HA Hamilton at age 18, Scott will begin his new role immediately while continuing to host the Magic 1278 Breakfast and 4BH Mornings shows.

Prasar Bharati amends Media Internship Policy to take more interns

Prasar Bharati has announced amendments to the Graduate Media Internship Policy 2020.  The pubcaster has amended Clause 3(a), Clause 4, Clause 9(c) and Clause 9(I) of the policy.  According to the partial modification of the policy, the total annual intake of media interns in a particular year will not exceed 250, which used to be 50 per year previously.  Directorate and vertical amendments include 70 intakes in DD News in a year, which was 20 earlier. Doordarshan (non-news) intake has been increased to 75 from 10, Akashvani (non-news) to 20, NSD Akashvani to 50, Prasar Bharati News Service and Digital Platforms intake to 25 from 10, and Prasar Bharati Secretariat to 10 intakes.   According to the latest modification, “Graduation in any subject from a recognized university, with a Post Graduate Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism/Journalism/Mass Communication from Government accredited institutions/Universities offering Mass Communication courses”.  Earlier, only candidat
