YouTube a Full-Time Job for Gear Seekers duo

By Will McLennan in Media News on
For Nick and Klaire Cole, they aren't just any Australian tech YouTubers as they operate their Gear Seekers channel full time. The duo have worked full-time on YouTube since beginning in 2017 and are quick to add that the work they do isn’t any ordinary 9 to 5 job. In the seven years of running Gear Seekers, the pair have accumulated over 230 thousand subscribers. Nick says the idea to first launch a full time tech focused YouTube channel came from his long-standing interest in PCs and Linux products, and identifying a gap in the Australian tech space.  “I saw that there weren't many people in Australia doing [tech YouTube]. And I've got an IT background. I've worked in data centres and enterprise IT. And I was like, you know what, I know how to shoot videos, Why don't we just do it?” “And yeah, we started full time from zero subscribers because we just knew that we could do it.” The duo create authentic content to better inform the audience watching and share Nick’s

TRAI issues consultation paper on regulatory framework for ground-based broadcasters

By Staff Writer in Media News on
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper on ‘Regulatory Framework for ground-based broadcasters’.  According to an official release, a regulatory framework is needed to enable the use of ground-based technologies for television distribution.   Broadcasters use satellites to provide channels to Distribution Platform Operators (DPOs). With the advancement of technology, broadcasters can also use ground-based technologies to distribute their channels. Like traditional satellite-based channels, ground-based channels can be transmitted and retransmitted simultaneously across multiple DPO networks to subscribers on commercial terms.  TRAI forwarded its recommendations on the Regulatory Framework for Platform Services to MIB in 2014, which included certain recommendations related to ground-based broadcasters.   In its letter dated May 22, 2024, MIB stated that the recommendations related to the regulation of platform services had been revie
