Hunkin leads Australian Gourmet Traveller

The editor’s chair at Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine has changed hands from Sarah Oakes to Joanna Hunkin (pictured).
Hunkin will relocate from Auckland to Sydney and assume the post from acting editor Amy Reedy on 2 September 2019. Oakes, who led the magazine since October 2017, informed management that she would not return after finishing maternity leave.
Bauer Media GM for publishing Sally Eagle said Hunkin’s experience put her as the best candidate for the job. She spent five years with the New Zealand Herald, four years with One News, and the past five years with NZME, where she is wrapping up as head of entertainment and lifestyle.
