End of the road for Aussie Backpacker?

Long-running free travel advice magazine Aussie Backpacker has closed, but owner and publisher Warren Gardner told Influencing that he would consider selling the profitable title to the right person.
“I would be open to any offer for the purchase of the publication,” he confirmed.
“When I closed Aussie Backpacker in January it was profitable,” he explains, “At present the industry is ‘slow’ and under pressure with the high Australian dollar a problem and the downturn in Europe, so the publication would require a concerted effort that I was not prepared to offer so close to my retirement.”
Gardner reckons the big potential for Aussie Backpacker is in the website.
