The Twitter page for the NT News is a fascinating setting for crocodiles, outrageous headlines and capital letters, and exudes the character of the renowned newspaper through every tweet. The author of those tweets is digital editor James Dunlevie, who talks to Influencing about controlling the social media of Australia’s most outspoken media outlet.
“I treat the Twitter posts and Facebook updates quite differently and believe it is a mistake to link the two. Different audiences should be treated accordingly,” Dunlevie says. “I think of Facebook as primetime TV, whereas Twitter is more like playing a comedy club in the city.”
