By Will McLennan in Media News on
EFTM Founder and Editor Trevor Long views his win in the Helen Dancer Best Consumer Technology Journalist category at this year’s Samsung IT Journalism Awards as the culmination of years of hard work.  “I needed my entry to stand out from the sea of amazing written content that would have been submitted,” Long told Influencing.  “In reality, you could argue years of hard work went into the content I submitted because it all really was made possible by those efforts. My Interview with Tim Cook, Apple CEO, was the submission's highlight. As the only Australian to interview Tim, it was the obvious choice for these awards. “Likewise, my coverage of the Crowdstrike outage, I submitted my mainstream TV coverage of this, and noted that the Crowdstrike CEO spoke to just one journalist globally - me.” Long’s interview with Apple CEO Tim Cook, his interview with Crowdstrike CEO George Kurtz, an interview with Apple Vice President of Marketing Bob Borchers, and his piece on

OpenAI contests jurisdiction in ANI copyright case

By Staff Writer in Media News on
OpenAI has told the Delhi High Court that India's Copyright Act does not apply to the copyright infringement suit filed against it by news agency ANI, as the alleged actions took place outside Indian jurisdiction, according to Bar and Bench. Senior advocate Amit Sibal, representing OpenAI, argued that the company neither stores ANI’s data in India nor trains its language models within the country. “Any action that is claimed to be infringement must take place in the four corners of this country.
