ABC reduces Zan Rowe’s role amid shift to hard news

Zan Rowe, a long-time ABC music presenter, has confirmed the end of her decade-long weekly music news segment on ABC News Breakfast as part of the broadcaster’s pivot towards hard news, Mumbrella reported.
The move aligns with ABC’s new focus under Chair Kim Williams and has drawn criticism from media circles and the public.
While reflecting on her program time, Rowe described it as a 'privilege' to deliver music news and analysis, adding, "Losing one opportunity always opens the door to another, and I’m looking forward to what 2025 will bring." She also announced that her popular Bang On podcast with Myf Warhurst will go on hiatus.
