DIMENSION DATA CLOUD BACKUP NOW AVAILABLE IN SYDNEY

Sydney first of many global locations to offer Cloud Backup services

Sydney, Australia– 04 February 2014 – Dimension Data, the USD5.8 billion global ICT solutions and services provider, today announced Sydney, Australia, is the first of its global Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) locations to roll out Cloud Backup. Cloud Backup is an optional backup and restore service available as an add-on to Dimension Data’s enterprise-class Public, Private and Hosted Private Compute-as-a-Service (CaaS) offerings.

Dimension Data offers three classes of Cloud Backup that address the needs for simple file and folder backup, as well as full application, system and file backup and restore:

• Cloud Backup Essentials – file and folder backup and restore
• Cloud Backup Advanced – file, folder, and system state backup and restore
• Cloud Backup Enterprise – file, folder, system state, and application backup and restore

With Cloud Backup, organisations can back up their entire applications. Clients using Cloud Backup can simplify and streamline business continuity and data recovery for enterprise workloads.

In addition to Cloud Backup, Dimension Data has added to its MCP offerings this year with Tiered Storage providing businesses with three choices to right size their storage, and server Anti-Affinity for high availability and resiliency of mission critical workloads. Recently, the Group announced it will add four new MCPs to its footprint in Ashburn, Virginia; Melbourne, Australia; London, UK; and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Availability

Clients can set up Cloud Backup by using Dimension Data’s CloudControl self-service web portal or application programming interface (API). Backup options do not need to be configured when clients initially provision their environment. After setting up their cloud servers, clients can select the service they require at any point in the future.
