Southside spoils semi finals chances for Adelaide in a hard fought win

Game Summary

It was a game that had plenty on the line for the Adelaide Lightning making it a must win clash against a Southside side that hadn't won in 48 days. From the tip off, Adelaide were hungry knowing the stakes of the game, however a free flowing Southside squad with nothing to lose came out with a point to prove. It was an arm wrestle for most of the game with neither team able to take a comfortable lead. A game with plenty of momentum swings, it wasn't until the last quarter where Southside began to overpower Adelaide as the Lightning struggled to come up with answers. A Southside team that has faced plenty of adversity this season and was on a lengthly losing streak, found a solution in the last quarter to come up with a gritty win that shattered final chances for Adelaide. 

Carley Ernst led from the front with 16 points, whilst Dallas Loughridge who has had a breakout season followed closely with 15 points. Maddi Rocci played her role with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists as Southside claimed an impressive team effort win.

Brianna Turner led the Adelaide Lightning with 18 points and was a huge presence in the key with 19 rebounds. Steph Talbot and Japreece Dean both had 15 points, but it wasn't enough for the visitors as they ended their finals fight in heartbreaking fashion.
