Game Summary

 

A strong last-quarter performance from the Perth Lynx won them the game at home. The last-placed Southside Flyers played with immense confidence and drive in the first half, to put them in a good position heading into the rest of the match. A strong performance by Maddy Rocci who finished with 19 points but ultimately was not enough to cause an upset in the West. Ally Wilson was important for Perth as her consistent drives to the rim kept the Lynx in the game.

 

The Lynx roared to life in the last quarter, with big moments from Miela Sowah and Amy Atwell to help propel them in front. Anneli Maley was crucial recording an outstanding 22 rebounds to keep the Lynx in play.

 

The loss adds to Southside's growing troubles this WNBL season. Although they can still mathematically can push for finals, they do so with key players missing due to injury. Perth continues to cement their spot in the Top 2 and chase down the ladder leaders in the Bendigo Spirit.
